Support Harry Mitchell now through ActBlue!

Thanks to the initiatve of bloggers at Wactivist.com (Mr. T), RCubed (Tedski) and LoftyDonkey.com (Lofty Donkey), we have a new ActBlue page dedicated to Arizona congressional candidates!

I'm extremely happy to add the Precinct 134 Blog's hearty endorsement of Harry Mitchell and join my fellow bloggers to sponsor Harry Mitchell for US Congress. This follows on the AZ Republic's endorsement today of Harry, as well.

Readers of this blog will know how highly I think of Harry Mitchell. His reputation for integrity and bipartisan results in public service to our community spans three decades. And given that the House of Representatives will almost certainly be shifting to Democratic control in the coming election, it is all the more important to have an accomplished, well-respected member of the Majority party in Congress representing us back here in CD-5.

Together, we have done so much. The Arizona blogosphere convinced Harry Mitchell to run for congress, broke the story about the Renzi land-swap investigation, first reported on Don Goldwater’s plan to lock up illegals and force them to build a wall, and survived the CD8 Primary. Now – today – we need to unite and do one final financial push for our Federal Candidates.

This Friday is the last big day to donate. While we could (and should) keep giving after today, this is the weekend where campaigns make their final plans for the last 10 days of the campaign. Give today to make sure they have what they need.

It has been an honor to have donated to and volunteered for Harry Mitchell's campaign. Rarely does one have the privilege of supporting someone so perfect for the job of representing the community. As I've canvassed neighborhoods, handed out literature, registered new voters and worked phone banking for Harry, I've been able to connect with many neighbors in our community who are desperate for a change in Arizona and in Washington D.C.

Few candidates have as much experience serving the people of Arizona as Harry Mitchell. After graduating from ASU, Harry became a public school teacher in Tempe. Colleagues of his (tired of his constant griping about the need for improved leadership in Tempe) convinced Mitchell to run for the city council. Harry Mitchell is supported by many respected members of our community across the political spectrum - Republican, Independent and Democrat - for his principled stand, his mainstream values and his integrity. And in my interactions with Harry, I've been able to quiz him on key issues important to me personally. His positions are reasonable, smart and smack-dab in the mainstream and he's a man who has proven he can get results.
