Mitchell: Hayworth and Republicans obstructing Immigration reform, hurting Arizona

In a press release today, Harry Mitchell slams the Republicans in Congress for obstructing a comprehensive Immigration reform bill desperately needed by border states:

U.S. Congressional candidate Harry Mitchell today criticized House GOP leadership for using delay tactics to push back negotiations on an immigration bill "until completing a series of provocative field hearings on immigration legislation through the month of August." Mitchell said that it is time to act on immigration reform.

"Every day that Washington politicians delay immigration reform is another day they fail Arizona," said Mitchell. "Washington has a real opportunity to get something done on this important issue for our state. Arizonans deserve better than delay tactics; the time for action is now. If the current leadership in Congress fails to deliver immigration reform this year, voters will elect new leaders who will get the job done."

This obstruction and delay is hurting Arizona. Hayworth is a fanatic and we're all paying the price for his extremist ideology, and that of others in the Congress of his ilk. We desperately need a Representative like Harry Mitchell who takes a mature, bipartisan approach to comprehensive problem-solving for the good of all.
