Hearthstone wall passes Parks and Rec; Council to decide now

Good news on the Price Park wall issue, but it's not over yet.

It appears that the Parks and Recreation Board are siding with us on retaining the wall whole. Now the Chandler City Council will decide tonight (Thursday, the 8th) what to do. We need YOU to send an email to let the Council know how we feel about this!

Council will hear neighbors tonight

Residents of the Hearthstone neighborhood bordering the Chandler Fashion Center in west Chandler are asking the City Council for the third time in nearly five years to keep their community wall the way it is.

On Tuesday night, at a community meeting at the Windmill Suites on Chandler Boulevard, the city's Parks and Recreation board sided with residents calling for the city to keep an 8-foot-tall community wall intact.

About 80 people from the neighborhood attended the meeting. Most said the wall, which separates the neighborhood's Price Park from Chandler Fashion Center, helps prevent outsiders, which could include lawbreakers, from coming into their community.

...Tonight at 7, the City Council is expected to hear the board recommendation and decide on the issue.

If you can't attend the Council meeting tonight, please send an email to the Council at Mayor&Council[at]chandleraz.gov to express your opposition to opening access to foot traffic through the wall.
