A campaign breakfast or presidential launch? A recent e-mail from Rep. J.D. Hayworth 's reelection campaign invited supporters to join the Arizona Republican, his wife and "The Honorable Dan Quayle, 44th President of the United States."

Whoa! How did we miss this? Mr. Potatoe Head running in 2008?

But perhaps Hayworth was distracted by the doomed-to-die, pandering legislation he's just sponsored in the House with other AZ Reps Trent Franks and John: H. J. RES. 88, “Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States relating to marriage.”

As AZ Congress Watch notes, "Yeah, it’ll never pass. But there are fundraising letters to write!"
