Tempe Oral History Project: Harry Mitchell interview, 1992

While doing some research on Harry Mitchell, I ran across this very interesting interview with the then Tempe Mayor Mitchell.

Mark Klobas interviewed Harry on July 16, 1992. In this interview, they discuss the development and revitalization of downtown Tempe during the 70s and the 80s.

It's an interesting read for anyone familiar with downtown Tempe (I lived there while attending ASU), as well to see how Harry describes it all.

In some cases, things didn't go like Harry and the City Council planned. But it's obvious that a LOT of planning and active, hard work was poured into the effort to revitalize Tempe over many years with the result being an amazing transformation of that urban center.
